Pratt-Whitney Air Force Outpost was a small re-fuel station for fighter aircraft, and home to the 2000th Fighter Squadron, nicknamed the Zero Heroes. The base commander was Lt. Col Hall. The Base was drafted by Pratt-Whitney Aeronautical Industries, in contract with the US Air Force, and Army. This plan was called the Northrop-Whitney plan, to take a remote battalion, split it up, and use the higher performing soldiers to create bases. The Battalion chosen was General Jackson Senior's and they were split into two bases, one called Pratt-Whitney AFO, and Northrop AFO.
